2012 Director's Annual Report
MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR – “A Year of Transition”

It is truly an honour to serve as ADSB’s Director of Education. I am extremely proud of our Board – our people, our programs, our students, our partnerships and our unwavering commitment to improving learning for all. I consider it a privilege to continue to work with our outstanding staff, our committed parents and community partners, and our dedicated Board of Trustees to create learning environments that will be engaging and that will foster the kind of creativity and innovation needed in our globalized world.

I am looking forward to embarking on my new journey, and know that this year will be one of transition and exploration as we celebrate our successes, reflect on our learning and look ahead to our future. We have a “rock solid” foundation on which we will continue to build the best programs and learning opportunities for all learners to reach their full potential.

It is important for us to engage in conversation with stakeholders, verbally and electronically, as we work this year to review our Board’s mission, vision and values statements, and plan to “reach to the future” through a strategic planning process. We are committed to developing the best programs, delivered by the best staff so that every student who enters our schools exits successfully. We are committed to Public Education … because education is the bedrock of social and economic development … and because every student is an investment in the future.

Together, we can all continue to build a strong educational organization and voice that epitomizes public education for our community and celebrates that we are ‘Proud to be … ADSB.’
