Secondary Core French

At the secondary level, students are required to complete at least one compulsory credit in French offered at the academic or applied stream in grade 9. Students are encouraged to continue to develop their second language skills by selecting further Core French courses in Grades 10 through 12.
 

Secondary Extended French

At the secondary level, schools may grant a certificate in Extended French if the student has successfully completed the sequence of four courses in Extended French (français) and a minimum of three courses in other subjects taught in French.

Secondary French Immersion

At the secondary level, schools may grant a certificate in French Immersion if the student has successfully completed the sequence of four courses in Français and a minimum of six courses in other subjects taught in French. The Algoma District School Board offers a French Immersion Programme at Superior Heights Collegiate & Vocational School.
