Algoma District School Board schools reveal their character through substantial fundraising efforts

Each year our students, staff and school communities throughout the district take on fundraising efforts for a variety of causes. In the spring and summer (2015), one of those fundraising efforts was for the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH).
ARCH Hospice provides compassionate care through end-of-life to Algoma District families at no cost. The emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort of residents and their loved ones is ARCH's highest priority. They offer a home-away-from-home during one of life’s most important moments: the end-of-life journey. ARCH Hospice is only partially government funded, requiring $750,000 annually in community support as well as the generosity of over 130 volunteers to provide their services to the community.

Through the sale of flower baskets, ADSB schools collectively raised $20, 210 for ARCH. Pictured left to right: ARCH's Executive Director Theresa Mudge, ADSB school administrator's Deb King, Lorrie Morley, Erin Hemsworth and Brent Vallee with ARCH's Manager of Fund Development Lee Rendell.
