Harry Jones
This year we lost a colleague and a respected friend. Harry Jones served as a trustee on the Sault Ste. Marie School board from 1994-1998 and then returned to the table of the ADSB in 2007 and served through to the end of the last term in 2014.

Harry was not a man who spoke frequently around the board table, but when he did, we all listened, as he was often the voice of wisdom and sound reason on issues that were brought to the board of trustees. He was a respected member of the First Nations Council at the Ontario Public School Board Association and they were especially sorry to hear of his passing. We all liked to hear his stories from the war and we appreciated the broad knowledge base that he gained from his involvement in other initiatives and organizations.

His obituary also said it best: Harry’s calming nature, his sage wisdom and his strong belief in the potential of Aboriginal people, and businesses generally, will be greatly missed in the networks that he worked within so passionately. Everyone who knew Harry remarked on the great love he often expressed for his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. As a very respected Elder-Statesman, Harry will truly be missed.
