Public Consultation for the 2026 / 2027 School Year Calendar

To All ADSB Families,
Please find attached the DRAFT Calendars being proposed for the 2026-2027 school year.
Your feedback will assist us by providing the data necessary for setting the calendar when working with our neighouring District School Boards. Using the feedback from the consultation, we may combine options, ideas, and compromises to create a 2026-2027 school year calendar. The Boards will work to a consensus once the consultation process has been completed.

As part of the consultation process with the other three coterminous Boards, ADSB is looking for feedback on the first and last day of classes for students:
o Option 1 – Students begin classes on Tuesday, September 8 (after Labour Day) and finish classes on Wednesday, June 30.
o Option 2 – Students begin classes on Thursday, September 3 (before Labour Day) and finish classes on Monday, June 28.

Holidays
• 2026: September 3-4 (Option 1 only), September 7, October 12, December 21-31
• 2027: January 1, February 15, March 15-19, 26 & 29, May 24, June 29-30 (Option 2 only)
Note: There must be at least 194 school days in a school year calendar of which no more than seven can be professional development days. Due to the yearly calendar, school may begin prior to the Labour Day holiday to meet this Ministry requirement.
